The goal of every Georgia Pre-K classroom is to provide Pre-K students with the learning experiences they need to prepare for kindergarten. Our Pre-K program emphasizes active learning, consistent daily routines and the use of positive behavioral management and assessment strategies. Our kindergarten readiness goal is to provide appropriate preschool experiences emphasizing growth in language and literacy, math concepts, science, social studies, arts, health and physical development, and social and emotional competence.

To qualify for the Georgia Lottery Pre-K program your child must be age four on or before September 1st of the current school year. Enrollment priority is given to those children currently enrolled and attending CHEROKEE ACADEMY. Enrollment is open to the public each year on March 1st on a first come first serve basis.

Providing for a smooth transition from Pre-K to kindergarten is a critical part of Georgia's Pre-K program. When looking at kindergarten transition, it is important to remember that it is a year long process, not something that happens in April or May of the school year.
